3000GT car computer
Computer specs

I re-used most of the parts from my old computer from my Accord, though this time I bought a new touchscreen. Behind the screen sits:

  • 800MHz Via Mini-ITX motherboard, 320MB ram
  • 20gb hard drive ($5 off ebay)
  • 80W Morex car DC-DC power supply
  • 7" Lilliput EBY-701 touchscreen

  • Always use NTFS, it doesn't become corrupted easily as FAT32, and it allows me to just turn the car off without shutting down the PC first.

The frontend is a little Visual Basic app I wrote, it uses Windows Media Player for song data and playback.

The white knob in the pictures below is my volume control, a stereo pot with a replacement dimmer knob on it.
    Sound system

Driving the sound is a Sony Xplod head unit. It's rated for 250W altogether, and will handle about 27W RMS per speaker.
    I have 250W Kenwood 6.5" 2-ways in front, and 300W Kenwood 6x9s in back.
