Re: N64 HDMI converter thread

Do you have anything else installed onto the digital rgb lines, such as Tim's RGB kit? That one has super long wires which unfortunately destroys the signal integrity of the video data. The UltraHDMI is failing with 0x3E which means the integrity of the upgrade data was compromised (by the way, the ...

Re: N64 HDMI converter thread

Many games switch from progressive to interlaced for their High-res modes. For example, NHL 99 renders something like a 512x384 framebuffer, then stretches it to 480i for display. Other games like Perfect Dark switch from 320x240 to 640x240 (still progressive). So it's double the horizontal resoluti...

Re: 64drive HW2 officially out

Looks good! Will the upcoming Gameshark support (with the next menu) support both HW1 and HW2?
Yup

Re: N64 HDMI converter thread

Anybody have interest in a preset/slot system for storing a few saved presets?
What would be the min. number of slots that'd still be usable?

Honestly the biggest problem is re-arranging the menu so everything fits :)
Maybe have a few slots that are pre-named? Like "Casual, Streaming, etc"

Re: UltraSave released

I'm not that versed in the 64Drive, but this UltraSave seems cool. I'm not into coding or developing N64 stuff though, I just want to rip my carts and saves. Would a cheaper solution just for that be on the cards at some point? Maybe, if there was enough interest. Hard to know at this point. There ...

Re: N64 HDMI converter thread

See the picture. The yellow line is where you should cut. It's possible with a sharp xacto knife. You have to carve a 'V' shape into the trace to be able to sever it without hurting any nearby traces. If you look at your serial number you can lookup the batch code: For example: R1AC040219 04 = Batch...

Re: UltraSave released

UltraSave software 1.05 released today.

Added support for Dobutsu no Mori (Animal Forest) real-time clock. You can view the RTC as well as set the time.
Also, fixed a bug where the 64drive version wouldn't be displayed properly.

Re: GBUD worklog

All the Gameboy chips were designed and package pre-RoHS so they can't survive the higher leadfree temps, so they have to be hand soldered separately. http://retroactive.be/img/i/ra575a174906556865b.jpg Surprisingly, the GBC was booting with relatively little effort. I wrote a N64 program to DMA out...
