Re: N64 HDMI converter thread

Loving the flat flex cable. The installation process just got so much easier compared to a load of super tiny wires. I bet you could just drag solder that flat flex in seconds with a little flux and some practice. 8-)

Will there be sticky tape on the underside of the flat flex?

Re: N64 region mod

Those are called vias and yes you can solder wires to them. You might have to carefully scratch of some of the solder mask around the via to get a better connection.

Re: N64 region mod

To prevent any damage to the pads never apply any pressure on the pad with your iron. Also do not heat the pad up too much. So either turn down the temperature of the iron or just touch the pad with the iron for a second or so until the solder melts and not longer. You can still use your mainboard w...

Re: Hooking up a normal controller to an iQue

If you look at this picture you will see that it should be very easy to replace the thumbstick with an original N64 controller's thumbstick since the iQue uses the same 6pin connector: http://retroactive.be/ique/ique_case_5.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/23212729/20130428_221212.jpg And the...

Re: N64 region mod

Buy one of those $50 hotair stations (like the Atten 858) and just heat the pins/pads until the solder melts.

Re: Firmware 2.00 progress

The SD card compatibility definitely took a hit with the new menu/firmware. My 8GB Kingston Class 4 SDHC now just gives a black screen after the little loading animation. Also tested it with a 32GB Flashraptor Class 10 SDHC and that one still works fine. Well just ordered a 32GB Sandisk Ultra UHS-I ...

Re: N64 HDMI converter thread

Will there be a difference between a NUS-CPU(P)-01 (DENC-NUS Video Encoder, 2x RDRAM18-NUS, 2x MX8330MC Clock Generators) and a NUS-CPU(P)-03-1 (no S-Video, smaller indented heatsink, MAV-NUS Video/Audio Encoder, 1x RDRAM36-NUS, MX8350MC Dual Clock Generator) considering the HDMI board? I got both a...
