Re: N64 HDMI converter thread

Did my first install today and the soldering was easier then expected. Just apply enough flux and everything should go well. :D http://abload.de/img/img_20160404_185028tquw3.jpg Also huge thanks to Marshall for the excellent installation manual and video! Helped me a lot. I like that you are such a ...

Re: N64 HDMI converter thread

Edit 2: For the first 1 or 2 times I powered up the console, the self diagnostic returned an error about 'pin 17 low'. It has since gone away. Something to be concerned about (returning)? depends on the title you boot. sometimes there will be "false" error codes generated until a certain point in t...

Re: N64 HDMI converter thread

Is the 64Drive going to be a for-sure method of firmware updating for the HDMI mod? Yes. Marshall already released updates for the UltraHDMI in rom format for the 64drive (or any other N64 flashcart), but the files are not public (yet). Firmware Upgrades UltraHDMI can update its own firmware. This ...

Re: N64 HDMI converter thread

I think it makes more sense for europeans to wait for the official reseller list, then to send their N64 over the atlantic.
Shipping costs alone make almost half the price of the mod itself, it would be absurd to do that.

Re: N64 HDMI converter thread

Only if a major bug is discovered which isnĀ“t fixable with a firmware update.
I think the chances that this will happen are very low.

Re: N64 HDMI converter thread

My guess would be removing the nubs to make it "region free".

@topic: It's really time for marshallh to update the main site with the installers list, when people from europe are already considering sending their consoles to NA.
It has been over 2 months since this thing released.

Re: N64 HDMI converter thread

Yeah, I think that was enough advertisement.
In my opinion that is too expansive.
220$ for just the installation, without even some basic cleaning (thats 30$ more)...
Remember that the mod costs 127$ when you buy it from Marshallh directly (at least buy 3 units).

Re: N64 HDMI converter thread

Is anyone selling boards/doing mods now? Will marshallh sell boards directly? The only shop at this point that offers installations offically is badassconsoles.com. If you want to purchase from Marshallh directly, you can send him an email here (bottom of page). BUT you have to buy at least 3 units...

Rareware games on the N64: NTSC vs. PAL

Everybody knows, that the NTSC versions of Nintendos first party lineup on the N64 is superior in any way, resolution, fps, speed etc. Except for Rareware games. Google for N64 NTSC vs PAL threads and you will always read the same answer: Get everything on NTSC, except Rare games. The story goes, th...
