Re: N64 HDMI converter thread

Lots of people have asked me about doing a "proper" HDMI mod for Gamecube like the N64 one that's going to be out soon.
OMG OMG OMG :D

Is there still any plans for GC support on these new boards marshal? Love the new forums btw. Is there going to be a modding section?
Since the new board is pretty specifically designed to fit inside a N64 it might be better to do a custom pcb for the Gamecube.

It looks amazing!
Good to hear that the Gamecube have a chance on these ones.
I pulled 3 quotes from the first page alone.

There are more threads talking about things for the gamecube, I just don't feel like making a big post. Also I am not hostel or upset, you just need to read the first 10 pages and your question would have been answered.
touche, honestly it's been a while since I've read through the whole topic so my memory has failed me, I usually now just jump to the last page to read and check the progress of how everything is going.

Also I hope anyone that goes to the con, gets pictures and details of the new stuff!

Here's a very large picture showing 1:1 pixel correspondence with raw VI output.
You'll notice the N64 is horizontally blurring 320 to 640 pixels. I never noticed it before running 1:1 pixels on the display.

So the N64 is sort of interpolating the picture to a higher res horizontally? Interesting, I guess the people on CEN64 would be interested in this kind of stuff.

Wow even with the "interpolation" it looks really beautiful and crisp. Here's to seeing internal hardware shots of it installed when you start getting to that point, I bet it will look like it's factory :)

Preview of the fancy new scanlines. Doing the lazy 50% scanlines just seemed too easy.

Right click > view image to see the full thing.

Looks truly amazing! Now I just hope that I'll be able to install this in a couple of units without to much hassle. I'm a little bit worried about my Otakus N64, I haven't opened her up to see how they soldered the PIF-muxer to the PCB...

And now continuing packing for the move, all my machines are boxed now... Even the miggy
First order when the move is over, install micros v.3 PCB. Finally I'll be able to use a modern potentiometer stick in my controller without issue, managed to snatch 6 of them before he declared the max order was 4 :-)
I'm hoping the next order of business is HDMI for the 64 ;)

Of course, all that stuff will be parameterizable, you can adjust the scanline depth, serration etc. Or disable them completely of course :)
