N64 HDMI converter thread

Tue Aug 26, 2014 10:10 pm

Well folks, I'm 100% on this project now. All the other stuff is out of the way for now.
I'm posting here since the benheck forums seem to be dead for good (RIP).

In a few days I'll have the next prototype pcb assembled and will have pics of it up here.
For now, sit tight

This sounds really good. I have been following this project for quite some time.

I even decided to try to make my own thing, just for learning. At the moment it outputs VGA. 240p is working, 480i has a jumpy image, which is not too strange. I am just not sure what to do with the 480i signal. Line doubling would be an option, but that would thow away half of the resolution. :(

Anyways really looking forward to the new PCB. The other version was already looking super nice!

Great news! I checked the benheck thread weekly hoping for some news or rumor. Can't wait to see some new info on this and the new 64drive firmware.

Is there still any plans for GC support on these new boards marshal? Love the new forums btw. Is there going to be a modding section?

Since the new board is pretty specifically designed to fit inside a N64 it might be better to do a custom pcb for the Gamecube.

Well shit, that was quick: http://www.gc-forever.com/forums/viewto ... =26&t=2500

Really looking forward to these boards even if no GC support. Looking great as always.

Thank you so much for dedicating all this hard work and time to this project. If you need funds, have you considered a Kickstarter for it?

Anyway, the future is looking sharp!!! ;)

This looks awesome! Is the new board designed to replace the Multi-AV out of the N64?

Do you already have an average price for the converter? I'm thinking about buying some for myself and about installing them for others as you've stated on the project page. It would be helpful to have a rough number to calculate with, so I could check whether this would be possible for me (financially)
