Thats good to hear you have dealt with Wes before I just ran across his site last week and didnt know much about him but he seemed to have good feedback on nintendoage. Sending a jungle green console to him today for the HDMI mod, a little more expensive than BA but I was getting impatient.
Here's a little more info for ya brother to hopefully set your mind at ease (or a lot of info actually lol).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k2HVB9S8CA
At around 9:24 in the "MyLifeInGaming" youtube channel which seems to be rapidly growing in popularity for the good and informative work that they do mentions Wes as having installed an amp for them that removes the SNES vertical line issue from one of the members of this channel's console.

These guys are basically huge fans of Wes's work and vice versa since Wes can direct his customers to their videos to get most of our questions answered about RGB modding, Marshall's N64 Ultra HDMI board upgrade and many other subjects before contacting him.

Wes seems to be a ferociously busy dude but will still answer all of your questions gracefully should you still need to ask him anything even if ya haven't watched these guys videos beforehand.

http://backinmyplay.com/episode-55-retro-game-fixes/
Here's a long interview where "Backinmyplay" an online videogame program interviews Wes for over an hour about his work at restoring retro game consoles.

http://www.ebay.com/usr/retrofixes
Wes/Retrofixes has 100% feedback on Ebay (think Ebay is where I discovered Wes to begin with as I was scouring the internets for modders to do mods for me).

https://www.youtube.com/user/Retrofixes/videos
Wes shows off some of his mod work and options for customers on youtube.

So yeah shamelessly shilling here for my choice of modder but I do want Wes to become more popular and well known as that should ensure he's around to do business for me should I continue to need his modding services in the years to come. Well now you here all have much information to judge him and the quality of his work for yourselves. :P

Yeah, I think that was enough advertisement.
In my opinion that is too expansive.
220$ for just the installation, without even some basic cleaning (thats 30$ more)...
Remember that the mod costs 127$ when you buy it from Marshallh directly (at least buy 3 units).

My install went nice and smooth! I have to say, Marshall's use of a ribbon cable here was perfect. Most of the time was spent lining up the cable and taping it down, the actual soldering took 30 seconds. Word to the wise, don't forget to plug back in a jumper pak or expansion pak when testing or you'll end up with a black screen  .

Anyone got the mod on a PAL console yet? Getting an american console would obviously be ideal, but my entire collection is PAL and there's no way I'm rebuying my collection in NTSC format. Would love to get the mod on one of my units. Any PAL-related issues or anything I need to be aware of with the UltraHDMI mod (besides the common issues with poorly optimized PAL game versions)?

It seems that most of the installers are based in the US. Would they have any reservations against installing the mod on a PAL unit? Videogameperfection is the only installer I know of that is based in PAL territority (UK), so maybe I should contact them when their services become available.

cleaning and polishing and adjustment of cartridge and memory expansion pack slots.
What kind of adjustment is that? Can you do more to the slots than clean them?

And thanks to all the people who answered my question! :)

My guess would be removing the nubs to make it "region free".

@topic: It's really time for marshallh to update the main site with the installers list, when people from europe are already considering sending their consoles to NA.
It has been over 2 months since this thing released.

Right, I forgot about that. But I wonder about the memory expansion slot. Not much you can do there. :)

Has anybody with the experience of N64 RGB --> Framemeister had a chance to do a side to side comparison with this FPGA solution?
