Does the mod affect the total power consumption by any significant amount? I read a comment from someone who had the mod done, and claimed that his N64 ran a bit hotter than it did before. It made me a little concerned about possible longevity issues with modded consoles.

Marshallh, are there any other additional graphics settings at all that you have been tinkering around with and thinking about possibly implementing into one of your future updates for the ultra hdmi? Just curious. Thanks again.

Badass Consoles has been sold out of the mod for a while. I found out it had been released after it was out of stock. Is there any idea when or if they'll get more?

Just got mine back today. Wont have much time until this weekend to put it through the ringer but for the 2 hours or so today I am excited. I think i read that you can use composite and the ultra hdmi on the same console but I have 2 copies of super mario world so I compared 1 console using svideo and 1 using hdmi on the same tv. I will preface this with the fact I love scan lines but wow it looks amazing compared to svideo or even sharp pixels mode. Taking up my full screen as opposed to 4:3, or being stretched with Svideo looking like crap is awesome.
I really want to try a variety of games to compare because 1080 snowboarding is one of my favorites but it didn't impress me as much as super mario or DK. Played a few games of Wayne Gretzky's hockey (which I love) with my son and it look good too.

Yes, you can use HDMI and multi-out simultaneously.

So looks like I'll need to pick up a 64drive to ensure I can get firmware updates when they come out. If I'll pretty much only be using the 64drive for this purpose (until I figure out another use for it) will I need to purchase a separate micro SD card? Or does the 64drive itself have enough memory in it for the firmware updates?

Also if you do end up changing the hardware some time down the line, and we already have the first model of UltraHDMI installed, can we send it to an installer again to get it replaced with the new hardware?

Just sent my N64 in the mail yesterday to get the UltraHDMI! :)

I got mine back about a week ago from Wesley Almond of Retrofixes.com (Super nice guy, does outstanding work), but have been so absorbed in OOT that I haven't had the chance to reply back here with my final results. The console polish was worth it imo, and I love the illuminated badge. Also, the new HDMI information sticker on the bottom of the console was a very nice touch as well. Sorry for my photo quality ahead of time.

Thank you Marshall and anyone else who made this happen. I'll probably get a 64Drive soon. You have given me back a big part of my childhood. This weekend I'm showcasing my Nintendo 64 to some friends via Goldeneye and Gauntlet Legends. It's going to be sick.

That looks so rad. I can't wait to get mine back. I've got a list of games that I need to play, and it just keeps growing...
