Will there be a difference between a NUS-CPU(P)-01 (DENC-NUS Video Encoder, 2x RDRAM18-NUS, 2x MX8330MC Clock Generators) and a NUS-CPU(P)-03-1 (no S-Video, smaller indented heatsink, MAV-NUS Video/Audio Encoder, 1x RDRAM36-NUS, MX8350MC Dual Clock Generator) considering the HDMI board?

I got both and I want to sell one while the other one will get modded with the HDMI board and my 64Drive to play NTSC games. Probably also will exchange the two crystals for NTSC ones.

Here is a good overview of the different revisions: http://nintendo64.wikia.com/wiki/Consol ... mber_Guide

Right now I think I will keep the NUS-CPU(P)-03-1.

Will this work simultaneously with Composite out? Will it work with an RGB mod, specifically a replacement DAC:http://etim.net.au/shop/shop.php?crn=20 ... how_detail

Have you tested it with an overclocked N64 (CPU multiplier 2.0) or underclocked N64 (CPU multiplier 1.0)?

The board looks beautiful and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Haven't finalized the direct modes.
Buffered modes are 480p and 1080p. I'm still considering what to do about PAL with its extra lines, whether to resample it to fit 480 or find a nonstandard mode.

I have done some tests with audio - rough, unfiltered audio is coming thru HDMI now.
Next rev came in recently and I finished assembly. It'll connect directly to the flex.
Unfiltered audio, does that mean it's too low or too high, is it peaking does it sound distorted? I do remember reading the N64 has some weird audio sample rates that make a TOS-Link mod a little hard to do, I can only imagine how this is going to be solved using the FPGA.

I do have another question, will the sync level be constant through HDMI? I ask being I do have an XRGB Mini and being some N64 games have both 240p and 480i signals you have to wait for the picture to come back after a few seconds when the N64 switches between resolutions.

@sanni

there should be no difference as the HDMI converter is connected directly to the RCP ;)

He mentioned 'buffered' mode of the converter in one of his posts. This one produces a stable/fixed video output no matter what the input signal is. So with this mode, your problem should be fixed. :D
